Description
La Plagne is on a unique site in Savoy, in the heart of the Tarentaise opposite Mont-Blanc. It is a group of interconnected high-altitude village resorts at elevations ranging from 1,250 to 2,100 m. Belle Plagne harmoniously combines wood and slate, Savoy’s identity and a friendly atmosphere. This lively, family-orientated sports resort is also a starting point for the glacier.
• An encounter with nature
Discover landscapes forged by mountain agriculture. Champagny-en-Vanoise: the narrow road to Vanoise National Park passes through many small hamlets (La Couaz, La Chiserette, Le Bois, Friburge and Le Laisonnay).
• Heritage and Tradition :
St Martin’s Basilica and Montmayeur Tower in Aime en Vallée… the Pierre Borrione Museum, Longefoy (Plagne Montalbert) offers “heritage trails” between the resort and village that present its history: the bread oven, Baroque church, chapel and water-mill. The Baroque Paths travel through the mountain pastures and villages of the Savoie.
