Description

Serre Chevalier is a large valley between the Lautaret and Briançon passes, lying open on its southern side. Its 13 villages and hamlets, which blend tradition and modernity, are scattered across the valley. The resort also offers a wide range of activities for the whole family. Serre Chevalier lies at the foot of the most beautiful peaks of the Ecrins National Park, an area which is bathed in light. The air and water are pure, the sky is blue and the sun shines more than 300 days a year.

An encounter with nature
The thermal springs and the petrified spring of Réotier, on the Briançon road. The Demoiselles Coiffées or “Fairy Chimneys”, a geological phenomenon unique in France, with their superb view over the Pontis, Theus and Remollon and Izoard passes.

Heritage and Tradition :
Serre Chevalier 1350: the rehabilitated Chantemerle spinning workshop, bearing witness to a flourishing industrial past during the 19th century. Serre Chevalier 1400: Saint Marcellin church and its treasures, Saint Barthélémy chapel, the village of Bez and its sundials. The “Olden days village” museum, housed in the chapels of Saint Luce at the heart of Villeneuve. Serre Chevalier 1500: the village of Monêtier les Bains and its rich past with the Escartons Republic, and its more recent history as a spa centre. Chapels and frescoes dating back to the 15th century in the various village hamlets.

Serre Chevalier is located in the "Domaine du Grand Serre Che" ski area : all the tracks are adapted for all levels and at different heights, in the Mélèzes or on the mountain tops.

Resort transport

A free inter-village express ski-bus shuttle runs every day and stops at the main points in the village and at the slopes (every 20 minutes) from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm.
