Description
The island of Tenerife is part of the Canaries archipelago, known as “the Islands of Eternal Spring”. On the same latitude as Florida or Lower Egypt, the archipelago is approximately 1,500 km south-west of Spain and the Fuerteventura Island is less than 100 km west of the south Moroccan coast.
The archipelago is made up of seven islands: Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, Gomera and Hierro. Tenerife is the largest of the seven islands. It offers some extremely varied landscapes with subtropical vegetation in the North-western valleys, the unique volcanic region of “Las Canadas”, rocky coasts, sandy beaches and magnificent forests, all dominated by the highest summit in Spain, the Pic du Teide at 3,718 m.
