The Hyeres Islands, also called the Iles d’Or (golden isles), a true botanical nature reserve consisting of of 3 islands (ideal for boat outings): Ile de Porquerolles: the largest island (7km long and 3km wide), Port Cros Island: listed as a national park, Levant Island: with its 8km-long rocky ridge surrounded by inaccessible cliffs. On the peninsula: Giens, a small, charming Provencal village; the Niel and Madrague harbours; Darboussiere beach (walks along the coastal path lined with cliffs and beaches); the salt trade eco-museum at the Salins des Presquiers (2km circuit).
