Resort Description

La Croix Valmer is a small Provençal village in a striking position facing the Mediterranean, lying in a gently sloping valley protected from the wind.
There are many traces of the past worth seeing, including the Taillat dolmen, the Roman ruins strewn across the Pardigon plain and Napoleon's gun batteries at Lardier.
On your walks you will discover picturesque architecture (turn-of-the-century villas), and typical regional landscapes (from the forest warden footpaths on the crests of Cape Lardier and Point Andati by way of Brouis Cove).
This wooded, rocky promontory rises to 197 m near Collebasse Pass. The entire plateau is covered with Aleppo and umbrella pine trees. This unspoilt natural area is totally preserved and protected by a conservation group, the Conservatoire du Littoral.

The surrounding area
The Massif des Maures reaching from Hyères (43 km) to Saint Raphaël (43 km): the coast, with its numerous resorts, offers viewpoints and attractive sites all along the magnificent tourist route called the "Corniche des Maures" (from Hyères to La Croix Valmer).
Inland, the countryside has many shady valleys and wild ravines.
The Hyères Islands, also called the "îles d’Or" (golden isles), are true botanical reserves. Boat rides to:
- Ile de Porquerolles: the largest island (7 km long and 3 km wide).
- Port Cros Island: listed as a National Park.
- Levant Island: with its 8 km-long rocky ridge surrounded by inaccessible cliffs.
Saint Tropez peninsula: landscape with a mixture of vineyards, lines of cypress trees and dramatic umbrella pines. The coast here is protected by the Conservatoire du Littoral and offers a variety of landscapes ranging from the rocky cliffs of Capes Camarat, Taillat and Lardier to the find sand beach of Pampelonne Cove.
Worth seeing: Gassin (3.5 km) and Ramatuelle (6.5 km), two picturesque villages built on the hills, boasting magnificent panoramic views.

When you reach the traffic lights at La Croix Valmer, turn left to Gigaro, then follow signs to the residence.
