The old districts opposite the harbour are rich in tradition and history: the colourful facades of the Provençal houses, the covered market, the Hôtel de Ville (town hall), which has a magnificent view over the town and Gulf from the square; Mimosas Hotel, etc.
Worth seeing: Sainte Maxime harbour, in the town centre; the "Musée de la Tour Carrée" featuring local traditions (in the old district); the "Myrtes" botanical garden, the Parish Church dating from 1752.
La Croisette promenade and its panoramic view of the Saint Tropez Gulf.

The surrounding area
The Massif des Maures reaching from Hyères (53 km) to Saint Raphaël (24 km): the coast, with its numerous resorts, offers viewpoints and attractive sites all along the magnificent tourist route called the "Corniche des Maures" (from Hyères to La-Croix-Valmer).
