Resort Description

The architectural style of its Villas evokes St Raphaël’s gracious past: Villa Rouquerousse (1900), Villa Sémiramis (full of Oriental charm).
The René Coty promenade and Boulevard Général de Gaulle, lined with plane and palm trees, offer a beautiful view of the sea and red twin rocks ("Le Lion de terre" and "Le Lion de mer").
To be seen: Notre Dame de la Victoire de Lépante Church (Neo-Byzantine style), the Valescure district on the right bank of the Garonne, the Old Town and the remains of its ramparts (in the Museum gardens), the old port, the Archaeological Museum (antiquities, amphora etc.), St Pierre des Templiers Church (Romanesque, 12th century style).

The surrounding area

Fréjus (4 km): a rich archaeological heritage (the amphitheatre, the Roman Theatre, the Aqueduct etc.), religious heritage (Cathedral, Cloister and Baptistry) and military heritage (Naval Troops Museum, the “Black Army” memorial etc.).
The Massif des Maures reaching from Hyères (92 km) to Saint-Raphaël: the coast, with its numerous resorts, offers viewpoints and attractive sites all along the magnificent tourist route called the "Corniche des Maures" (from Hyères to La-Croix-Valmer). Inland, the countryside has many shady valleys and wild ravines. The Argens Valley separates this countryside from the Massif de l’Esterel.
The Massif de l’Esterel: between St Raphaël and La Napoule (34 km), this natural setting is one of the most beautiful regions of Provence, stretching right down to the sea in places.
To be seen: Ste Maxime (21 km), St Tropez (36 km), the lake city of Port Grimaud (35 km), Gassin
(35 km) and Ramatuelle (36 km), two picturesque villages built on hills offering magnificent panoramic views.
