Serre Chevalier stands out for its beautiful tree-lined slopes, which lie beneath the peaks of the Ecrins National Park. Serre Chevalier gets an impressive 300 days of sun a year. Combined with a good selection of higher altitude runs and plenty of snow canons, that gives you perfect skiing conditions. Serre Chevalier is made up of thirteen villages and hamlets. The main town is Briancon, a typical French mountain town with some attractive architecture. Other settlements include Col du Lautaret at the other end of the valley, traditional Chantemerle and purpose-built Villeneuve. A holiday in Serre Chevalier will keep all the family happy, and offers an authentic French skiing experience. In the evening, you can head to the bowling alley or the indoor tennis courts if you still have some energy! Or head out for drinks and dinner in one of the resort's restaurants, for a choice of traditional French and international food. In summer, the mountains around Serre Chevalier open up to all kinds of outdoor sports and activities. Try kayaking or white-water rafting along one of the mountain rivers, enjoy rock-climbing or mountain biking, or just enjoy the stunning views and the many walking trails. We have two residences in Serre Chevalier. The Chantemerle residence has two stars, its own heated pool and comfortable apartments with their own balconies, a short walk from the centre of Chantemerle. The L'Alpaga residence, from Pierre & Vacances, has four stars and is in the village of Chazelay. It has attractive wood-clad apartments for between four and seven, set in landscaped gardens, with a pool and kids club.
