Land Ahoy!
The famed Port du Crouesty is quite literally the largest marina in Brittany, an expansive complex made up of different basins and countless docks.
Situated at the tip of the Rhuys peninsula, the Crouesty harbour is a favoured destination for leisure-sailors and boasts some of the most modern infrastructure available.

Ecology in the spotlight.
Whilst marine life from the Red Sea as well as the Amazon is represented in the tanks of the Gulf of Morbihan aquarium, aquatic fauna from the Gulf is also pushed to the fore so as to make the local population aware of the protection of their immediate environment.
It is the opportunity for them to understand that the consequences of their actions have direct repercussions on the seahorses and cuttlefish of the Gulf Coast in just the same way as on the moray eels, sharks and piranhas that live in other climes.

The furniture and the archaeological treasures discovered at Carnac are for the most part presented in the Musée de la Préhistoire.
Visitors will follow the adventures of mankind from the Old Stone Age (450,000 years ago) to the Gallo-Roman period (4th century B.C.), by way of the Neolithic period when the megaliths were erected. A total of 6,600 exhibits are on display.

Discovering the secrets of the menhirs.
This alignment is made up of 555 menhirs, in 13 lines. Raised along an east-west line, these menhirs cover 7.5 acres, despite it being the smallest site in Carnac. Although it is the smallest, the Kerlescan alignment is also the best preserved. It also includes a stone circle, made up of 39 stones.

An exceptional site.
The Dolmen of Kercado has the characteristic of being one of the rare Dolmens in Brittany still installed under its original cairn. Situated to the south of the Kermario alignment, its diameter is 30M and its height 5M, surmounted by a small prehistoric standing stone placed on its summit in the 19th century when the countryside was excavated.
The dolmen is, in addition, surrounded by a small circle of 27 standing stones, forming an enclosure.

Cultural outing.
La Cohue is an ancient mediaeval hall of imposing dimensions in which the museum displays its well-stocked collection of paintings.
These collections, further enriched by a number of works on loan, take the visitor on a journey that is both familiar yet constantly renewed.
Light in the landscape, that ceaseless quest of the artist, is the common theme of 19th and 20th century painting.
Figurative salon landscapes and abstract compositions hang side by side and speak visually to one another, reaffirming a continuity of inspiration.
In the 19th century, painters began experimenting with outdoor painting.
Little by little, light begins to dissolve the subject and lead towards abstraction.
This progress towards modernity can be traced through the works of Elodie La Villette, Eugène Boudin, Claude Monet, Jean Le Moal and Geneviève Asse.

Treasure within a treasury.
Built in the 12th century with changes being made up until the 19th century, the Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Vannes has a composite but nonetheless harmonious style.
Not far from the sacristy, accessible by a staircase, the cathedral’s treasury holds a huge collection of liturgical objects from the cathedral and from neighbouring villages. Chalices, ciboria, patens, altar crosses, monstrances and other reliquaries are evidence of gold and silverware over the centuries.

Vestiges that reach far back into history.
The most important Megalithic site on the peninsula is without a doubt the Kerbourgnec Alignments situated in Saint-Pierre-Quiberon. It is made up of a total of 25 sometimes oddly-shaped menhirs aligned in a sequence of five rows. Only a little further from this site, there is a "Cromlec'h" with a total of 27 menhirs placed in a circle - it is the third largest in the whole of Morbihan.
