The ski resort of Avoriaz is undoubtedly one of the best resorts for a ski holiday in France. Created by Pierre & Vacances in 1966, Avoriaz is a purpose-built, car-free resort that sits on the northern slopes of the Portes du Soleil ski area, offering excellent snow levels from December through April. Avoriaz also offers excellent ski conditions with over 650km of slopes spread across 286 pistes: 28 black, 108 red, 111 blue and 39 green.
