Avoriaz - one of the best resorts for a ski holiday in France. This purpose-built, car-free resort sits on the northern slopes of the Portes du Soleil ski area at an altitude of 1800m, offering excellent snow levels from December through April. Created by Pierre & Vacances in 1966, Avoriaz is now one of Europe's largest ski resorts with over 650km of slopes spread across 286 pistes: 28 black, 108 red, 111 blue and 39 green.
